By blocking impulses to tiny facial muscles it reduces the prominence of expression lines, appearing softer of which may gradually disappear over time thus achieving a more youthful and radiant look. It is traditionally used to treat the upper proportion of the face such as forehead and around the eyes however it can also be used by our advanced medical practitioners to treat other areas of the face such as chin, jaw and neck.
Following a thorough consultation with a prescriber, tiny injections will be placed precisely into the muscles which are causing the lines to form by a qualified cosmetic aesthetician.
There is no downtime with the treatment. Occasional swelling and bruising can occur at injection sites but settles very quickly. A very rare side effect can involve a drooping of the eyelid which can be treated with prescription eye drops. This tends to happen with poor injection techniques. At JD Aesthetics Ltd our training is of a very high standard.
Typically takes 14 days before full results will be seen and will typically last 3-4 month, although this will vary from person to person.
Facial rejuvenation with the use of injectable fillers involves injecting a substance into the skin in order to correct a wrinkle or a deep fold such as nose to mouth lines. Injectable fillers can also be used to create lift as well as add volume or fullness to the lips.
We only use FDA approved dermal filler products which have consistently demonstrated safety, efficacy and predictability. Hyaluronic acid can hold over 1000 times its own weight in water, therefore once injected will plump out the lines in the skin giving a more youthful appearance.
There may be a little swelling and redness after treatment, which will generally subside within a few hours. Bruising can occur in the treated area but this will usually fade over a few days.
Dermal fillers usually last between 6-12 months dependent on area being treated and the product used.
